1. Paints, Coatings, and VarnishesMTO cut is widely used as a thinner and diluent for oil-based paints, enamels, and wood varnishes. It reduces viscosity, allowing for smooth application via brushes, rollers, or spray guns, while ensuring an even drying rate without affecting the coating finish.

2. Industrial Degreasing and CleaningDue to its strong solvency power, MTO cut effectively dissolves heavy oils, greases, and tars. It serves as a primary cleaning agent for machinery, industrial tools, automobile parts, and metallic surfaces before treatment.

3. Chemical and Petrochemical ProcessingIn chemical manufacturing, specific MTO cuts act as reaction mediums, feedstock, or diluents to reduce the viscosity of heavy crude oils for pipeline transportation. It is also integrated into formulations for printing inks, adhesives, sealants, and rubber processing.

Advantages and Handling

MTO cuts offer an economical alternative to solvents like naphtha while delivering consistent evaporation behavior and minimal chemical residue. Because it is volatile and combustible, MTO cut must be stored in cool, well-ventilated spaces, using splash-proof containers away from ignition sources. Proper protective gear should always be used to limit vapor inhalation and skin exposure.
